No soak Instant Pot hummus is easy to make and tastes amazing! Instead of going to a restaurant for some great hummus, you can now make it at home with my easy-to-follow recipe.

What is hummus?
Hummus is a Middle Eastern dip made from mashed or blended chickpeas. There are different variations of hummus and interesting flavors. I’ve even seen chocolate hummus! 🤯
For my recipe, I kept it pretty simple with the main flavors being garlic, lemon, cumin, and paprika.

How to eat Instant pot hummus

I love using hummus as a dip for my veggies. Some people eat hummus with pita chips, but since I try to eat low carb as much as possible, I stick with vegetables.
Here are some of my favorite veggies to eat with hummus:
- Broccoli
- Bell Peppers
- Cucumbers
If you’re a meat lover, you could also use hummus as a dip for your favorite animal protein. Whenever I go to my favorite local Mediterranean restaurant, I always dip my beef kabobs into my hummus. It’s so good!!
All about dried garbanzo beans
You can make hummus using canned chickpeas, but I personally like using dried chickpeas. I would rather control the whole cooking process from start to finish.
Most of the time you can find dried garbanzo beans in the bulk section. If your grocery store doesn’t have a bulk section, try looking in the aisle where they carry beans and rice.
After purchasing my garbanzo beans in bulk, I store them in large, airtight mason jars.
Tools you will need for Instant Pot Hummus

- Instant Pot: An Instant Pot is a pressure cooker that quickly cooks your food with very little effort. There are different brands of pressure cookers out there, but the Instant Pot seems to be the most user friendly and safe to use.
- Food Processor w/a Drizzle basin: I like the Kitchen Aid Food processor because it has a small basin at the top for emulsifying oils. This basin allows the oil to slowly drip into the hummus, creating a smooth consistency. I have the KitchenAid mini food processor, but I recommend getting a full size food processor with a drizzle basin.
- Zester: If you want your hummus to have a strong lemon flavor, I highly recommend you purchase a lemon zester. This little gadget is a must have in every kitchen. I purchased my zester from HomeGoods, but you can get a similar one on Amazon here.

How to store Instant Pot Hummus
You can either store your homemade hummus in the fridge or the freezer. I like to store 3-5 days worth in the refrigerator and the rest in the freezer.
If you decide to store extra hummus in the freezer, place it in a mason jar, making sure you leave some room at the top.
If you don’t want to store glass in the freezer, you can also freeze leftover hummus in an ice try. Once it’s completely frozen, transfer the frozen hummus cubes into a freezer safe Ziploc bag. When you’re ready to eat the hummus, pull a few cubes out and let them defrost overnight.
