The Joroto X2 is an affordable spin bike for short girls. Most spin bikes are uncomfortable to ride because their features aren’t adjustable enough. I picked the Joroto X2 specifically because it has multiple ways the adjust the bike to my height.

Why I wanted an indoor spin bike

After California’s third reopening, our gym was busier than ever with new members. I wasn’t so much bothered by the lack of social distancing, but by the lack of access to my favorite machines.

It was annoying having to wait for someone to finish using a particular set of weights or equipment, so my husband and I made the decision to cancel our gym membership. We still wanted to workout, so we purchased some dumbells and a kettle ball to get us by.

For cardio, we thought it would be best to purchase an indoor spin bike since my husband and I aren’t big fans of running. This brought me to the quest of finding an affordable spin bike for my short self.

Adjustable Features for short girls

If you’re short like me (I’m only 5 feet), you’ll notice most indoor spin bikes are extremely uncomfortable to ride. The seat is either too high or the handle bars are too far out. Very rarely do you find a spin bike that adjusts enough for your short stature.

When it comes to finding a good spin bike, look for one that has an adjustable seat and handlebar. Ideally, the bike should be able to make vertical and horizontal adjustments.

The Joroto X2 has an adjustable knob that allows the handlebar to slide closer to or further away from your body. This feature keeps you from overreaching during your workout.

The Joroto X2 handlebar moves horizontally, not just vertically. This keeps you from overreaching.

The Joroto X2 also has a very well cushioned seat that adjusts both horizontally and vertically. The vertical adjustment is important because you don’t want your knees overextending when you pedal forward.

If you have really short arms, the horizontal adjustment of the seat cushion will definitely help out. As you can see in the photo below, I have my seat adjusted as far forward as possible.

Pros of buying the Joroto X2 spin bike

  • Price: The Joroto X2 spin bike is not cheap, but it’s also not as expensive as other spin bikes. I purchased my bike on Amazon for $400. Just for comparison, the very trendy Peloton bike costs $1,800-$2,500 🤯.
  • Fast Shipping: My bike arrived in less than a week. I’ve heard of the Peloton taking weeks to ship.
  • Simple Assembly: The bike is easy to put together and the instructions are simple to understand. If you’re more of a visual learner, there is also a step-by-step video online. Check it out here.
The Joroto X2 has 2 wheels, which make it easy to move.
  • Easy to Move: The front base of the bike has 2 wheels, which makes it easy to roll the bike to any location.
  • Water Bottle & Phone Holder: The handle bar does have an area to place your phone and water bottle but the shape is a little awkward. I wouldn’t recommend putting your tablet on the holder.
  • 1 Year Warranty: I haven’t had to contact customer service…yet….so I don’t know how honorable they are with their 1 year warranty.

Cons of buying the Joroto X2 spin bike

  • From the very first time I rode my bike, I noticed an audible click coming from the right pedal. After doing some research, I found that this is a common issue with most spin bikes that usually means the pedals need to be tightened. If this problem persists, I will have to contact customer service.
  • When you’re following an instructor online and they tell you to turn the resistance to a 2, you won’t know what that means on the Joroto X2. You’ll have to do your best to guess by matching your speed with the instructor’s.
  • You’ll need to purchase additional gear to measure your cadence. I’m not super concerned with cadence, so it’s not a deal breaker for me.
  • The Joroto X2 spin bike does not give you the option to ride with spin shoes. I have seen other people say you can purchase universal clip in pedals if you really enjoy riding with spin shoes.

Tips for the Joroto X2 spin bike

  • Have someone help you assemble the bike. This bike is too heavy and awkward for one person to handle. There are certain times during the assembly when you’ll need another set of hands.
  • Assemble the Joroto X2 spin bike on a blanket. There are a lot of moving parts to this bike, which means you’re probably going to drop something at some point. The blanket will keep the parts from rolling all over the ground and ruining your floor.
  • Place your bike on a workout mat to prevent the bike from scratching your floor. The mat will also help stabilize your bike. I purchased this heavy-duty mat from Amazon.

Final Thoughts on the Joroto X2 Spin bike for Short girls

Get it! It’s a great bike that is comfortable to ride. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to working out at home.

I enjoy riding this bike using the Peloton app (the first month is free) and Youtube. If you’re on a strict budget, Youtube is your best option. If for some reason your internet isn’t strong enough to stream Youtube, you can also just ride your bike to the beat of your favorite songs.
