About Me

Hello! My name is Aubrei and I’m a dog loving introvert who is married to the most amazing husband. In my free time, I enjoy sharing recipes and DIY projects with others. You think I would shy away from putting myself out there online, but I don’t! I have learned a lot over the past few years and I can’t help but share my experiences with others.

My husband and two fur babies, Princess Leia and Prince Newman

A little bit of my back story…

When I was in junior high (many years ago lol), I began experiencing IBS symptoms, mostly stomach pain, as well as severe anxiety. Things got to the point where my mom ended up pulling me out of school for a few weeks in order to figure out what was going on. She took me to local doctors and gastrointestinal specialists at UCLA who couldn’t figure out why I was so sick. My doctors advised me to eat healthier and “relax”. It was either that or they would put me on medication. I chose to change my diet, which was mostly made up of chicken nuggets, corn dogs, and pizza at the time. My mom stumbled upon a book called The Maker’s Diet, which is similar to the Whole30, and we followed the diet exactly as outlined in the book. My symptoms started to improve and I was able to return to school!

Fast forward a few more years…

My introduction to healthy eating changed my life forever and I became obsessed with what I put into my body during high school and college…and I mean OBSESSED! I tried just about every popular diet on the market: Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Grain Free, Paleo, Whole30, Keto, even Vegetarianism! I found that no matter how strict I was with my diet and no matter how “good” I looked, I was still unhappy and found myself binge eating. My physical symptoms were better, but I was never at peace.

My goal for Peace by Peace Living

I naturally tend to be a very serious thinker who likes to overanalyze EVERYTHING! This makes it hard for me to enjoy the here and now. Throughout my journey I have learned that my goal in life is not to be perfect. Reaching for perfection in every aspect of my life never brings as much satisfaction as I think it will. My goal in life is not to be rich, famous, skinny, popular, etc., but to be AT PEACE with the life God has given me. This is how I landed on my blog name, Peace by Peace Living-A simple guide to a balanced life. I want to teach other people easy DIY projects and recipes to make their life simpler and more enjoyable.
